NM Engineering is developing a tune for aftermarket turbos!
I emailed them if they were actually tuning for aftermarket turbos like JMTC and they said their results were promising. 23lbs.
True, but at least with a gt28 you wouldn't have as much of a torque spike which would allow you to tune for higher numbers. Maybe 250whp/tq with 380cc injectors and be safe within your knock limit and not break a rod. I came from the 1.8t vw crowd. and on the 1.8t if you were running a 50trim you would need to buy rods on anything over like 300wtq because of the torque spike but if you ran a gt30 it would take longer to spool and i know of many people doing 350whp on completely stock internals. So I imagine with the 1.6 being a smaller engine it will take a few hundred rpm longer to spool a disco potato and you could get some conservative numbers out of it with 15psi or so. but who really knows. It's all speculation. I don't recall offhand what the breaking point of the mini cooper rods are.
i didn't think they spooled well on our cars just for the fact that there was no adequate tuning for the turbo. But i'll definitely check them out
