Tunes for 2013 R56 S

What companies are making tunes for the r56? I have used Cobb in the past on my Nissan but having a difficult time finding a company for the Mini.
Thanks in advance.

Lenny@Renntech or PAW motorsports or Group4autosports/evolve-automotive/burger-tuning/NM-engineering.

Renntech/PAW/GP4A are all dyno tunes by the talented Lenny. He has programmed ecu's for all these companies. All the same gains, I believe.

Evolve & NM are canned tunes but evolve can tweak some things if you want. Requires ecu to be removed and sent to them.

Burger tuning us a piggyback style tune that is a cost effective solution at $300.

Look them up, figure out what you want from your MINI.

I too have a 2013 Cooper S. Won't a tune essentially void the warranty?

Yup, pretty much if they find out. But I dont think they would unless they believe the tune caused something to malfunction.

Search for N18 ECU tune. So many people are crying about this with good reason. Your options are EXTREMELY limited. Focus your buying power on good tires and good suspension. Otherwise, you are going to be extremely dissapointed.

Forget those custom tunes, if I wanted something powerful I would have bought a V8. These engines can't take too much power unless you start upgrading internals. I wouldn't waste thousands of dollars for that kind of issue just so I can beat other cars. A canned tune would be the best thing for these cars and I'm sure you'll agree Shane.

Yes I do. But there are foolish people that seek to push the envelope because they are greedy for power. I don't think the N18 is even close to the point of people looking to upgrade bottom-ends, trick cylinder heads, cams, hybrid turbos. Those people are the vast minority in the MINI community.

then just buy the JB+ and crank the pot as far clockwise as possible - that'll get you maximum gains! =)
with all the vendors out there and all their different tunes, the JB+ is easily the best bang for your buck. easy to install, easy to remove, and smoothly delivered gains. couldn't ask for more for $300.

Lol the stock JCW doesn't even have much more power than a stock S. I'll bet you a stock cooper S can keep up with a JCW. Your talking about RCH's now

I don't know if you're being sarcastic or serious but that's a canned tuned. The few people that want to seriously push the envolope with this car will not accept that as a tuning solution since it is not custom tailored to their application. Think big. Cams, head, porting, big turbos. That's at least the advantage that the N14 engine ECU has and Evolve was at the point of being able to do that via remote tuning solutions. It certainly made a lot of people with N14 engine MINIs very happy including me. When somebody finally gets it done for the N18 that will be a blessing.

totally being sarcastic...partly b/c people repeatedly ask how high they can turn the pot up.

Oh sorry! Anyways, yes a basic tune is what will sell the best in this market. BMS is going to be making some cash quick

Yes for larger turbos, max gains, etc, they will need to wait for at home flashing or perhaps a JB4 style solution. We've used those to control aftermarket turbos nicely on the N54.

No idea on that. I'm looking at few things but the main issue I can foresee at this point is the horrendous install. You'd have to take half the engine bay apart to attach connectors to the appropriate sensors.

Does it have to be connected right at the sensor? Why not just make an intermediary harness that plugs between the DME and the harness?

We do that for other applications but for this one it's not practical due to the DME connector system used. We could have people cut wires on the DME but that isn't going to fly. So at this point I think it would need to be direct sensor connections plus a couple removable wire taps for CAN+/-. All theoretical right now. We're looking in to the options to see what is the most practical for the end user. And then we'll weigh the possible success of such a solution to determine whether it's "good business".
