Ok, this whole carbon thing on intakes is just really bothering me. I can't believe a design that would allow this to not be addressed by manf.
Next are people with N18 ( I own a 2013 and 2011 ) getting carbon buildups that live in TX climates ? Are you running OCC's and collecting anything ?
Is there anyone local doing the walnut cleaning for $400 like Cali people ?
Anyone having trouble getting MINI to clean their valves under warranty ?

Carbon buildup on valves seems characteristic of BMWs; they've had the problem for years.
The BMW recommendation is to only use certain brands of fuel, e.g., Chevron, Shell - all the really pricey brands.
*MY* recommendation, based on the owner's manual recommendation for my '84 733, is to run the engine (hard) above 3000 RPM for half an hour or so every few months...
