Re-covered steering wheel owners?

My 2-spoke steering wheel is peeling/flaking. I'm looking at a Redline cover. http://redlinegoods.com/MINIleatherwheelcover.php

For those with re-covered steering wheels, how are they holding up? How painful was the install? I'm handy with a wrench, but apprehensive about a my ability to do a tidy glue & stitch job.

I have 3 Spoke wheel - Leather / Alcantara combo.

Nice feel, holding up like OEM for last two years.

Was looking at doing dash next.

I have not installed the RedLine cover, but have installed several WheelSkins which are similar. They do take time to install, but are nice when finished. All of the ones that I have installed are still in great shape after many years of use I (by my kids). Keep the lacing tight when installing, take your time and all will be good.

What colors did you both use? If black, how does it look with the charcoal interior?

Which leather did you go with?

If you go with Redline, make sure you get the nice leather. Super soft and supple. It was a pain to install, but I really like it.

That looks great! Did you add thickness to the wheel?

That makes me nostalgic for the D-shaped wheel I had in my old 280zx

I chose the padded option when I ordered it. They include the padding and cut the leather just a little bigger.
