This photo is from the Motoringfile site. I think it's to be released at 2 simultaneous auto shows in Europe. I, for one, am extremely interested in seeing the first redesign in 7 years. I'm waiting to get a new one until I can see/drive this one next spring in the US. Who else is interested? I think they look great. The guy who's seen it says the pix don't do it justice you can't see the details. And the interior is supposedly excellent.
(btw I put this thread here because there's not one for it, and this gets a lot of traffic).

Someone already said it best. Looks like a scared goldfish with a baboon *ss.

The first generation and second generation MINIs look much more well thought out. In that order too.

I haven't seen the **s of the car yet, just those shots. I think the front's OK. I read the comments, and realize that initial comments are usually negative about a car that they already like. I think most of us like the Mini's looks (or we wouldn't have bought one). Question is can they freshen it up without messing it up, like they did in 2007. I think most of the R53-R56 changes were stuff you can't see from the outside. I'll be tuned in on the realease date as if it's a new iPhone lol. It'll either be that or a Coupe for me.

 

the Photoshopped pepper white pic makes it looks a little bit better. i'm interested in the interior...

 

To each their own as the saying goes. I just really liked that comment about the baboon 8ss from Motoring File.

 

Lot of hate thrown at this car. Nothing new at all. Most if the vitriol seems to come from the Gen 1 crowd. Gen 1 folks hate everything MINIs put out since their beloved R53's so I take those opinions like I take a crap..flushed rapidly!

 

I like how the pepper white looks. I can't wait to see it in person

Glad I managed to order an R56 JCW HT in time!

 

Exterior looks like they amped up the "cute" some... It's still bearable; even almost likeable IMHO...

It's the interior I worry about. The center speedo etc - the Mini feel.

Performance and handling I doubt will disappoint.

Agreed! Nothing but alarmism in my opinion and this "baboons butt" stuff... Have these people looked at their own MINIs? Back looks near the same as the R56. Hell the R53 for that matter.

 

Yeah, I guess I'm overthinking it when all I see is the back end alone similar to the R56 but then those "baboon's ****" taillights are just small lol.

Nope, after deliberating some more, it looks ridiculous. The front end I don't mind as much after watching a video how the headlights look.

Also, has anyone heard that the F56 will be debuting in the movie Transformers 4? I read an article that it might be in that movie.
