Brake upgrade for R53

I have an R53 with quite a bit of upgrades in my power train and suspension. Now my brakes are needing replacement for the first time since my maintenance plan ran out, I'm looking to upgrade. Maybe JCW brakes, maybe aftermarket. Bottom line, I want better brakes but don't want to pay an arm and a leg for them. I've noticed most brake kits are front wheels only. Makes sense since that is where most of the braking occurs; I just want to make sure that there is nothing goofy by going front only. (Question: do stock JCW cars have the upgraded brakes all round or front only?).

What would folks recommend for a cost effective upgrade? What would I expect to pay for a pair of JCW brakes (can't find them online anywhere)?

Note that I don't track my car so...

Thanks!

Really? I looked again and saw JCW-like brakes but no actual JCW. If you could, please link the actual product. Thanks!

I'm pretty sure R56 front brakes are equivalent to R53 JCW brakes. Those should be a bit cheaper than straight JCW, unless you're looking for the bling.

I think you're right about R56=R53 JCW, but I don't recall seeing those either.

its the Brembo 4 piston BBK. runs $2k and weighs 80lbs which will increase your unsprung rate.

Have a 05 MCS JCW and want to do a BBK upgrade but don't want the increased unsprung weight. r56 brakes are pretty heavy too.

Wilwood.. Only $1k and the rotors and pads are cheaper than OEM.. And last longer! Will pay for themselves in a couple sets.

Call Todd at TCE and see what he can do for you, if you want a REAL BBK. If you just want an upgrade the yes the R56's will bolt on but you need new lines. I have them on my R53. Just make sure when you get them they come with the hangers. (You HAVE to have them.)

+1 on the Wilwoods. Talk to Todd at TCE about your intended use and he will help you get exactly what you need at a fair price.

Thanks guys. There are single axle options well under $1000 in fact. The best values are the new 4X Kits listed on the web page however!
