R56 rear suspension conversion for r53

Category: Suspension
Price: $1500
Private or Vendor Listing: Private Listing
Part fits (you may select multiples): R50, R52, R53
Location (Region): NorthEast
Item Condition: Used

Rear suspension arms, hubs, sensors and poly bushing and new bolts/hardware for converting your steel r53 rear suspension to the aluminum r56 rears.

Planned to do this for my mini, but am now retiring the mini.

Search on
Lighten up! R56 cast aluminum rear trailing arm conversion for the R50/53 MINI
To find out more on the steps to convert. You'll also have to replace the e-brake cables or modify the r53 ones to fit, and there are several posts out there on your option in going to r56 rears...

Also have available:
Rear Alta end links
Rear JCW 2nd gen rear calipers, rotors, pads
22mm Alta rear sway
14mm lug set
Spacers to mount rear r53 shock to r56 arms
R53 S suspension (struts, springs)

Available to ship to US or CA
I travel a bit, so I can't arrange immediate shipment, but will at my earliest convenience.....
Pickup may be possible.

Details:
rear arms/hubs from a 22k mini
JCW brakes from an unknown mileage donor; caliper painted rotors and calipers
Everything else new, and only fitted and prepped with anti-seize...

Make me an offer for the package.

I am not trying to steal your thunder but you can get the JCW rear arms all day long for about $300 plus freight as assemblies used. Say $400 delivered each. Does yours having something the JCW's don't as upgrades?

Yes, you are. But that's OK. I understand.

Will you find aluminum trailing Arms? Definitely.
With low mileage hubs? Probably.
With the speed sensors intact? Good luck with that one. Recyclers like to just cut brake lines and electrical lines. It's easier/faster that way.
With rear "S" calipers? Very unlikely
With JCW calipers? Resoundingly No.
There are 2 listings for Jcw rear calipers in all the USA, and I had called them. They weren't JCWs. Many of the recyclers list as JCW, but they are really "S" calipers.

So, Will you find complete rear assemblies?
With some work, yes.
but JCW complete rears with JCW calipers? Nope.

Then add in new rotors, new pads, new SS lines, new bolts all around, stud kit, urethane bushings, the R53 to R56 shock bushings, an Alta rear sway and Alta rear links.

And then your time hunting down all these parts.

this is a bolt on conversion for an R53 except for the e-brake cables.
If you buy just arms, you need to move all your hardware over, get new brake lines, blah, blah, blah.
And that's a fair bit of time and effort..

Offer what you think is fair.
I prefer to sell the complete package.
I'm not ready to break it up at this time.

Thanks for looking.

Srcypher,
I wasn't.
I asked a question so I could understand better why you are wanting what you are and I was going to discuss a purchase with you. After your reply you have a couple valid points but thank you.
