mood lighting

Drive the car as it was intended. If you need mood lighting get Benz! Lol!

See this is where I think Mini went off track for the purist literally.
I get it, you paid for it and want it to work so it’s not your fault and I am just expressing myself.
Jeep did the same thing with the CJ to the Wrangler to the Rubicon and each time it got further away from its root s a utility vehicle to an SUV

It’s like British Racing Green, Chili Red, Fly Yellow, etc. sounds mean fast and of a racing heritage so I suppose next year Mini will evolve white to a name like “marshmallow breeze”. Lol There I go again………

I am personally Happy you are a Mini owner and continuing the support for our passion and sorry for the rant.

Are you under warranty? If so, just take it to the dealer.

If not under warranty, the main overhead console controls the mood lighting, if all of them are not working I would check the switch and the module, overhead toggle bank and module. If its the led of one of modules ( door, door handle, B pillar, or overhead itself) , I would check and replace just that part.

2011 up has more colors. Pre 2011 there was less colors and the led modules are all different.

#3 Overhead toggle bank / module 2011+ " No glass roof option " ( R55 R56 R60 R61)

LOL! NOW it has become helpful! QUESTION: I have lost the color YELLOW in all of my mood lighting locations. Everything on the mood lighting works as intended EXCEPT when it is time to display the yellow, it fades out completely. It reaches RED which then fades out completely, then the next color (I think BLUE) fades in and the colors continue like normal until it reaches RED again which fades out completely. Any ideas?????

You are welcome

This is all I know about the LED modules.

The Leds module control the color sequence. If its all the Leds I would point towards that module in the toggle bank overhead. If its one led module, say in the B pillar location, I would point to just that module. Are all the locations working ?

Thanks

Yes, all the LED locations are working, and they all show every color except yellow. When it is time for yellow, it just fades to dark, and then back to blue. I'll take a look at that overhead module. Does it have -anything- to do with the BCM? The BCM module connector by the footwell on the driver side is causing some problems I have not looked into yet.....

Don't know much about the BCM and LED control module communication. I just know about the overhead module and what it does.

If the BCM has damage from the water ( leaking sunroof ) or something else which is known then i might be to blame, I suspect the power comes from the BCM to the module. Might be worth it to check the BCM and the pins. But I have never heard of the BCM affecting the LED colors.

Thanks and good luck.
