Painting plastic fenders

Was wondering if anyone has thought about or have painted their plastic black fenders body color? I think that might look good, if anyone can photoshop it to see how it looks that'll be awesome!

Search the forum. There are a bunch of members on here with it. It looks great, especially on dark and grayscale colors. If you like it just get it done. It's all about the prep work. Plastic needs to be sanded properly and you need a flex primer like Bulldog to make sure the paint grips to your flexible plastic pieces. I considered doing it on My R56 but I only changed my mind at the last second because of so much road debris I already get as-is. However on the R60 i have ever intention on buying it is a must-do. I think it depends on your location and habits. Do it.

When considering mods to either my Mini or my MINI, I ask, "Am I smarter than the engineers who designed this car?
And I answer.... Yes!

I did it on my R50 and love the look, but haven't decided if I want to do it to my R60 too. In addition to the special painting process, many of us that have done it to an R50/53 also bought a new set of fender pieces because pulling the existing ones off the car can make small dimples in the fenders. I'm not sure if that is an issue with the R60 fenders. I'd llove to see some photos of anyone that has done it to an R60.

Looks great! I would think if anything we won't have to worry about it fading since its actual paint.
