Labeling More Roads in Mini Nav?

I have a 2013 Paceman S with Navigation. Among the several (disappointing) things I have noticed about this system is that very few roads are labeled on the map. It doesn't label the road you are on, and you can drive up to major cross-streets which are not labeled at all. It will label streets off my path, but very few, and apparently on a random basis.

Does anyone know if it is possible to increase the "density" of the street labels? I realize it is a fairly small screen, but more labeling would help.

(It would also be nice if it spoke the street names when calling for turns. Even the small $200 portable systems now speak street names.)

It does seem to generate reasonable navigation routes.

I think you'll be waiting for a software update from MINI before anything like that happens, so I wouldn't hold your breath. Overall, the Nav interface is pretty dumb, and I don't hold out much hope that it will improve. Google Maps does every single thing better when it comes to navigation, as would any modern handheld GPS unit.

Labeling Roads

That's what I figured. I would not have chosen the NAV system, but we bought off the lot - and that was something the car had.

I think the built-in navigation systems are going away. I'm a little surprised that with the iPhone support, Mini didn't just show the phone navigation screen on the central display. There are lots of good iPhone navigation systems available.
