Just a heads up to all you mini-heads out there. This Friday (9/6) is the Vintage Racing Festival at Watkins Glen NY. This year's featured marque is the Mini, so there will be lots of us there. Check www.grandprixfestival.com for details.

Check http://www.theglen.com for the on-track schedule for the entire weekend. There will be a Car Corral for minis/MINIs at WGI. I also noticed that Don Racine is on the Entry List...

To bad I didn't know about this sooner. I have a camp about 15 min from Watkins Glenn in the Finger Lakes Forest but I have other plans for this weekend.

 

Here's hoping that someone who attended this event will post-up some pics for those of us who could not attend... that would be sweet cause we love pics... yes we do!

Heres a couple of pictures at the end of Saturdays events. All the remaining Mini's lined up for three laps at whatever speed you could muster. There were 35 of us not including the three Mini Pace Cars. Great track for these cars. My son and I never got out out of 3rd and 4th gear. The lower "s" really shows Mini's handling while the main straight lets you accelerate into the first curve and up the hill on the back side towards the back straight. My cars are the first Chili Red on the left with white racing stripes and black roof and the Pepper White right behind it with black suspender stripes. Better than opening day because of the vintage cars and Mini was the marque car this year at Watkins Glen.
