Reviving the Alabama Motoring Society?

We had a great time this past weekend with the first Magic City Minis meetup, and this was due to no small part to the guys & gals from the Rocket City and River Region gangs that showed up. I don't care if we end up with 50 Magic City Minis showing up each time, having the guys/gals from other state groups will always make it better.

Over beers at On Tap after the ride, we talked about getting all of the groups back under the Alabama Motoring Society again. Alex said that he can get the website back up and running, and we also talked about how a Facebook group page seems to work real well, and we should set one up.

I for one like the idea of "getting the band back together", and I'll help out any way I can. Other opinions?

Well duh....

I guess instead of "opinions" I should have asked for other "ideas". Time to throw them against the wall and see what sticks.

Hear, Hear! Thanks for getting this going again. Here's a link to all of my pics from Saturday. I edited the weeds out of the shot from the overlook atop Oak Mountain.

Well, like we discussed. All of the "local" groups could fall under the The "Alabama Motoring Society". We could use that Facebook Page/Website as a central place to make public the various chapter's runs or other news that may apply to other chapters (caravaning to MOTD or other MINI events, other car shows or events not neccessarily related to only MINIs, etc etc) .

I don't think that it matters much to me if it is a Facebook page or Website. Whatever is easiest to set up. It would be a way to get folk involved in our groups from areas that wouldn't have enough interest to form their own chapter.... Another place to connect......

Better late than never! We got off to a great start and it looks like it's just going to keep getting better. Reviving the blanket Alabama Motoring Society page is still in the works; Magic City Minis has a facebook group now, check it out at https://www.facebook.com/groups/magiccityminis/

AMS Face Book Page

While I will gladly host and Roll out a new AMS website for those that want it we are finding that the Facebook groups seem to work much better. We have several groups in Alabama and many of us are in multiple groups. Its easy to post events, get confirmation of those who will be attending, and to message each other. We were even able to communicate via the Facebook messenger app when near wifi in Fontana at MOTD 13. Staying in touch using smart phones and devices has never been easier!
