Looking for an automatic JCW?

Surprised to come across this - looks nice, 2013 with 4,331 miles. And $37,000! Mini of Alexandria

No affiliation - just always looking.

Price is a steal for the options. Makes me wonder why the dealer has it. Can't be a demo, as that's unlikely for a JCW. Leads me to believe someone unloaded it back to the dealer for some reason....

The Carfax report shows that it went to auction on 8/12/2013, and says "Listed as a manufacturer vehicle. Sold at auction".

Some kind of demo used by Mini?

No way they had a JCW as a demo and racked up 4000 miles in test drives on such a car. I'm guessing the dealer bought it back from a customer, for unknown reasons.

Looking at the Carfax again - it doesn't list any owners! I looked at some older Carfaxes I have for other cars I've looked at, and they show "Owner 1" and "Owner 2", "length of ownership", etc. This Carfax doesn't show any of that.

It doesn't even appear to have been titled, or am I missing something on this Carfax?

Could it have been owned by Mini, the manufacturer? An auto show car? Like I've seen cars in Nashville from Nissan with Manufacturer tags on them. Not from a dealership, but from the corporation.

Searched on the VIN via google and nothing jumped out. WMWXD1C59DWL99233

Odd...

I bought a dealer jcw with 1000 miles on it well equipped. It was used to drum up business and taken to local shows, so I'm not surprised.

Could it be a MINI press vehicle? Not sure of manufacturer plates show up as "owner" on carfax reports.

Sounds like an executive car. Loan to an employee for one year and then sell.
