GP owners push me over the edge

Ok, I'm pretty sure I'm going to seal a deal on a GP today or Monday, just have those last minute nerves

Going from a 12 JCW hardtop, any regrets??

Only real concern is no rear seat, we have another car to tool the kids in, but my oldest is 16 and sometimes it's gone, but that's pretty rare when we all travel together as they get older.

You guys loving it?
Thanks

I would buy mine again without hesitation. So long as you have another vehicle for bigger needs, and you do, I'd recommend it to a MINI lover. I think you'll appreciate the subtle differences between the GP2 and the JCW. You'll get over the missing creature comforts like keyless access, automatic headlights and cruise control.

I've read on here the exhaust is more aggressive sounding
Have you found this to be true?

That's a good thing in my eyes

If I could do it all over again I probably would order a loaded JCW with all the gadgets over buying the GP. This is not to say I am not happy with my GP but I do find myself missing some of the luxury items, most of all the steering wheel controls. I know they can be added but Im not going to spend another $1400 (after install) on parts I will get zero return on in the future. Do I regret buying a Mini? Not a chance. Do I regret buying a GP over a loaded JCW? About half the time I do.

Same reason I don't have one either. I came from a modified S that was optioned about like a GP. I just like a little more gee whiz factor in my car.

Could probably live with a GP if I could get it with nav but they restricted options for one reason - the low volume car is much easier to write code for if there is only one version.

I think you guys ate missing the point. The GP IS a JCW. It happens to be a JCW slanted heavily to the performance side. If you want nav, cruise control and cushy suspension, I think they would like to steer you towards a country man. I'm sure bmw appreciates that some people like gadgets, others like performance... they just choose to make a perfoance car!

So...I should get rid of my sport suspension and buy a countryman?

Think about it... You can have nav, cruise control, thumping base, four doors, plenty of storage, maybe even DVD player on back seat... Sounds like everything your lookin for!

Sold my 2012 Cooper S with a sport package and purchased a new 2013 GP beginning of June. Just clocked 1000 miles and could not be happier with the decision. Congrats on the purchase and enjoy the ride!

Tinley Park Mini. Someone just bought another one from them this week so that makes two sales this week alone for this dealership.

Big shoes to fill indeed especially when I was running around 450 crank hp on the 1M. I think the GP will really shine on the track and auto cross events though.

Yeah I'm the proud new owner of #485. Went right from the dealer to the garage with the impending storm so no real seat time today.

You just need to buy 3 varieties of MINI's like my wife and I...... Problem solved! I think most people, like myself, buy the GP because of the overall speed and handling factor, not creature comforts. My wife likes the power of my GP over her R53 and R58, but has to have leather seats, steering wheel controls and a nice stereo system, that is why we bought the R58 over a new GP, it just made more sense to suit her needs. Honestly, the back seats in a MINI are pretty useless anyway unless your kids are 8 or younger, so I never factor it to be a 2 or 4 seater. Either way, the GP is an iconic MINI and the loaded JCW's are just plain bad a$$! Either way, you will not regret it.
