So my car hit 133,xxx and the clutch started slipping. Decided since its had basic maint. up to 127k that I would give it some lovin'. One of the many things I wanted to do was service/rebuild the blower. Now it did make some very faint whirling noises, then again I know some noises at idle are to be expected. Not having another vehicle to compare to I figured better be safe than sorry and pull the blower since I have to do a clutch anyway among other things. This is what I found.
According to another thread I found through google, this designates that the supercharger is indeed a normal 04+ S model unit.

However, this doesn't look OEM.....

And the coating looks perfect, and not flaked off in a single spot like I've seen in other photos. There's also some sharpied writing in the compressor housing.

And finally the water pump gears.

They looked perfect to me. The fluid seemed to all be there when I cracked the cover open and drained it. Now I was considering sending it to Dustin, but I've heard some mixed reviews about him so I then figured I'd just send it to Stiegemeier to have them inspect, clean, rebuild, and port it. Now considering the great condition it looks to be in, would you guys believe that it has been rebuilt before? Would you send it to have any work done on it?
As for how it felt/acted, the car made 145whp/132wtq on a Mustang Dyno which was known to read lower than usual at the time, was still in 4wd mode, and doing the pulls in 3rd gear not 4th with a DDM intake and Alta Catback. The car has always felt very good since I've had it. It's always pulled hard, and never skipped a beat. For whatever its worth, I pulled ever so slightly on my friends '13 R56 6spd.
I plan on running a 15% pulley along with a few other bolt ons. I may someday jump to JCW 380's and possibly a NS1 cam, but never anything other than that. Thanks for your time.

Think it HAS been rebuilt....
Coated rotors were STD on 2005+ Model year cars and ALL JCW cars...
But what makes me think it is a rebuild is the magic marker writing.....LOL....not sure of the quality of the rebuild....but it has been messed with!!

Yeah that was my initial thought too. I think what happened is the owner got bored and sent the blower out and "smoothed out" the casting marks on the larger horn with a dremel...or a rock. What surprised me though is he must of had a shop do it, or he is meticulous because EVERY bolt was where it was suppose to be. Nothing looked like it had been tampered with. I also have the service history for the car in which it was maintained at Mini of Peabody in Mass from new to 127k which is when the second owner sold it. Car was bone stock too, and in the invoices I got from the dealer there is nothing listed about supercharger anything....weird!
