Traction control uncertainty

Hi everyone

On my ex R53 when you driving hard and changing from 1st to 2nd the engine cuts abruptly if the traction was on causing a jerk and delayed throttle response in the next gear , but if you switch traction off this went away.
On my FJCW with the controls fully off (hold DTC for 3 seconds) it's doing exactly what the R53 done with traction on. Why is it doing this?? Is it maybe faulty?
Even using dtc mode it doesn't cut the car as aggressively.
Anyone have an explanation or is it a fault?

With the DTC in stage 2 off, I've never felt any traction interventions, so something's wrong there.

Are you sure you've actually turned it off? If you're in DTC mode and don't hold the button for long enough it'll go back to normal mode. DTC/Stage 1 off I get "Traction" in the tach display. I'll feel brief traction interventions on an aggressive upshift, sounds like what you've experienced. In stage 2 off, the tach displays "DSC Off" and has the icon of the car and slippy road. The light on the speedo will also stay lit.

You can see if its making traction interventions as the light in the speedo flashes when it does that.

I'm very sure it's off. The triangle appears on the dial in front of me. Held on DTC for 3 seconds.
It's just strange experiencing a cut like that when you expect no interferences.

Is it anything got to do with the electronic diff that the Jcw has?

I'm not expecting to feel anything from the electronic diff, that should only come into play while cornering. I'm assuming your acceleration is in a straight line. I've never felt anything anyway.
