noise when barely on the gas?

Just as the title says; when im going about 50mph+ in 5th or 6th and I barely have my foot on the gas I hear a high pitch whining noise. Dealer says its coming from the trans but the car drives fine.

Im guessing you have a manual..lol... My first thing to check would be you trans oil...then go from there.. Just because the car drives fine doesn't mean there isn't something going on...

If your still under warranty then that at least helps put your mind at ease... But I would just pay close attention to it..see if it gets worse..also maybe the noise isn't even coming from the transmission... It sure wouldnt be the first time the dealer told me one thing and ended up to be totally something else!...good luck!

In my experience if you know something's wrong and you continue to drive it, they could say when it's time for repair,"why did you continue to drive it if you knew something is wrong with it?

When I told dealer that I knew I needed a timing chain components replaced, they told me to not drive it! Imagine that I did drive it after telling them that and I drove it, chain slips off cams and I expect them to cover it under warranty? I think not!

except that its all stored in your key fob. I wouldn't worry too much. If I take it to the dealer and they can't figure out what is wrong, that's not my fault. You made a good faith effort to get it fixed.

Mine does this faintly in 5th gear. I've driven other cars with identical noises with manual transmissions, never turned out to be an issue. replacing the gear box fluid is a good idea though

I might go ahead and do that myself. I dont feel like dishing out $250 at the dealer.

its super easy to do yourself, 2 hex bolts on the side of the tranny, all you need is one of those hand pumps that screw on the gear oil bottles. a good practice is to remove the top bolt first and then the bottom, because if you remove the bottom bolt first and realize you cant get the top one out, guess what, you cant refill the tranny and the old oil just drained out the bottom one.

I noticed a slight rattle noise when slightly pressing the gas pedal and figured it was some noise from the direct injection fuel injector. When injecting directly into the combustion chamber the injector needs to be able to close tight enough to not allow combustion gasses to flow back into the injector.
