Two Qs from someone looking to buy

I am getting really close to putting my order in for a All4.

Two questions, any of you out there with big dogs stick them in the back with the seat up? I've got a 70lb Golden and I think he will be able to lay down back there no problem.

Second.. how did you choose color?!?! I was between True Blue and Crystal Silver and I am leaning towards the Silver, but everytime I see someone post pictures of their CM, I go oooh that looks good too!

Well, I can't help you with the dog situation. Ours is just the reverse. We traded in our Honda Element on our CM, and the Element was the dog mobile for our two Golden Retrievers. She optioned the CM with the pricey Championship, red, lounge leather interior and mandated that this would be a dog-free car, so now they ride in my Tundra pickup all the time

I like silver because more than any other color, it accentuates the lines of a car best, IMO. BUT, the Mini true blue is fantastic. We were very close to ordering our CM in blue with white roof and mirrors....eventually her favorite color, bright red, won out(she is the primary driver, so most of the optioning decisions were hers.....except the one to make it a JCW )

good luck on your choice!

I have the Clubman and a 100 lb Bernese Mountain dog that rides in it daily. I first bought the Mini liner that lined the whole back area with the seats down. I didn't like it with suction cups sticking to the windows that always popped off. I also hated loosing the cargo area.

Then I bought a rear seat dog hammock. That works perfect. Easy to take in and out. Protects the seat. And Regus loves it.

Make sure you look at all the colors in person, not just online and in the MINI configurator. Many of them look very different up close. I like True Blue in a lot of pictures but I'm not a fan of it in "real life." Silver is actually the total opposite - it looks boring in a lot of pictures but has a very nice depth in person. I'm probably not the best spokesperson for either color though, because I ended up with Absolute Black (which, hilariously, is not absolutely black). You have to look at them, think about it, and ask yourself if you will ever get sick of it. Pick the color that you are least likely to burn out on.

Also, I have a 70lb Pit Bull and a 62lb Australian Cattle Dog and plan on driving them around in my JCW. I have a generic seat cover from PetSmart that I bought for my wife's car that I think will work just fine and it was $25. The material is substantial and it's covered in a microfiber-type material that does a good job of catching dog hair. It's not fancy but it works. Might buy something different down the road.

It's this one: http://www.petsmart.com/product/inde...AvailInUS%2FNo

Last year, after going through several colors on the lot (that either didn't have the right features or were already sold, I got a loaded, used 2011 cosmic blue with only 5500 miles, and the rest is history.

But I still like the silver. It's classy and looks awesome with black stripes.

I know exactly what you mean about seeing the colors in person. I looked at a few of the colors when I did my test drive, but should have spent more time looking. I was so focused on checking everything else on the car out that got pushed to the back.

Black is actually my favorite color for a car but it is what I have now and I want a change plus it gets really hot in the desert sun. I think I am pretty much sold on the silver with black roof and rims, just like the way it looks together.

I love the way it looks with black stripes, but not loving the ones Mini offers. Will probably order without and find someone to do some custom stripes that come all the way down the front bumper.

If you're going to do any stripes than run down the boot, you will probably want to have the "Countryman" lettering removed before you have the stripes added anyway.

Tucker is huge for an ACD. He isn't fat though, just has an abnormally large frame. I'm not convinced there isn't some mixing a generation or two before him.

My wife and I have a 60 lb golden retriever that fits in our CMS boot just fine. We keep the back seats up and remove the privacy cover so she can poke her head up and catch a breeze between the head rests. On longer rides she seems to be comfortable laying down on the plastic boot liner for a nap.

If you are looking for another back seat cover option there is the factory MINI Rear seat Cover. Its comes in black/ gray with felt like durable material and Red JCW like pipping.
Hooks over the seat headrest. Zips together.

Universal Rear Seat Cover for R60 MINI Countryman & R61 MINI Paceman. Part number 52302179302

I started a thread asking about seat covers (here:https://www.northamericanmotoring.co...-for-pets.html) and plenty of people chimed in with some good options; I have yet to chose where I'm headed for my 75lb golden.

It is good to know that he'll fit in the back with the seat up, but he generally likes to be closer to me (he's a wuss) while in the car.

As far as the colors go, I really think that depends on the person and the actual build. I've seen colors on the website that I never considered, but when I saw one out on the road or at the dealership with a certain build and optins, it looks fantastic.

I just recommend that you go to the website and build as many different configurations as you can. And google as many pics and videos of MINI's as you can to get looks from all angles and get a better idea of what you like the best.

I really like the BRG color when I was configuring our car, but then we saw it on a car and it was almost black....definitely different in real life for sure...

Think about how you can accent each color. Silver the possibilities are many vs the blue which has limits. Check out the pics in both colors official thread on this site to get some ideas. IMO, the two colors you chose are sooo different it is hard to compare the two. The blue with the white accents seems very "beach like", (not sure if that is the look you are going for). The silver is much more "Sporty" looking and you can add some red to it to get a real sporty look. The silver gets my vote and I would have fun decorating it. Good luck Motor on>>>
