Pick some 17" wheels for this mini

I've been struggling picking a set of 17" for our roadster that should arrive in two weeks.
What wheels would you see on this to make it extra special?

This is close to what we ordered except for the wheels (we got the 16" standards)

I'm going to replace the brake vent and rear light with chrome pieces so it looks more like this color wise:

I'm considering some silver R112 but everyone seems to be running them on the roadster... nothing wrong with that. I like them very much, but I which I could get something that complement the color scheme the best.

There's an other option for the UK, Cades wheels, but they're 10.2kg (22.48lb):

FYI, I'm not opposed to black but I'd like the car to be bright and peppy

My R59 showed up with 17" silver, and I had them swap them to 16" anthracite. The ride was smoother.

Then I had the anthracite changed to 16" MRK silver/black rims. I like the compromise.

Actually, I do like those 6 dual spoke wheels but I figured for the cost I would have had to pay extra at the dealer at the time of order I might as well keep the standard 16" for winter and get a new set for the summer. This way I save some money.

In a strange way the reason I want summer wheels is that I'm a huge fan of the Michelin Pilot super sport

Also I feel the 16" works better on some color car scheme like yours and a little less on ours for some reason . . . maybe it's just me.
Maybe it's when the car as a more sporty/rally like attitude the smaller wheels can look really awesome. . . I'm not sure it's the vibe I get from ours

byw, comfort is relative. On my other car I have a set of 17" with all season Dunlop that is by far less comfortable than the 18" with the summer Michelin I also have ...

I would choose the 17" Black Star Bullet wheels. They are a nice balance that ties the black and bright chrome elements of the body together. Just my opinion.

Yes, I've seen a few minis with it...

You probably aren't talking about the picture I put originally but this one:

You might shy away from those wheels because they seem very popular on this board these days, TG. But consider that most people that see your MINI will never see them on another MINI. They really would be a great choice for you. And I'm not just saying that because they are on mine.

I see exactly what you are saying CR
I'm still quite interested by the R112 I'm a tad hesitant mostly because I'm not sure they work as nicely on a kite blue mini than they would on a silver, white, or black one...

Do you know the weight of those (the R112)? I've seen different contradicting information... some have said 21lb other 23.5lb, a big difference I think...

Doing a little Photoshop tonight. Be forgiving, it's really hard to find imagery that matches car angle...

I think I know what you are all going to say but let see if I'm right or wrong:

The Black Star Bullet rims aren't out of questions and I really appreciate your opinion, yet I'm finding myself not exited enough with them, maybe they just look a bit heavy to my taste...

thanks for your vote

by the way the Berns have a lot of depth to them that does not show very well on my photoshop work. They weigh around 9.5kg (or about 21lbs). I feel they are a little more "elegant" and crisp than the R112.

The R112 on the other hand have a definite more classic look to them. Since the mini uses a lot of soft curves and rounds, the classic and thin multi-spoke works greats for the roadster.

Again, personal opinion, but I think both of these wheel are too fussy for the Kite Blue color. It needs something a bit more playful like the Black Star Bullet wheels.

There's some truce to that. . . My wife and I don't agree either between those two and since it's primarily her car I may have to lean her way...

quick update:

Today I just picked up a set of wheels at the dealer with freshly mounted sticky Michelin Pilot Super Sport. I just love these tires I cannot be helped

I actually really appreciated the opinions here and I did agree with many black wheels you guys though where a better choice.
For a few reasons (great deal on them + my wife's choice) I did go with the 17" R112 . . . But I have a plan for them in the winter if a get myself to do it

Pictures to come later . . .
