How to clean your wheels and tires - elapsed time video

Figured this would be a good one to post up - just an elapsed time video of how we do wheels at the shop.

Thanks for posting this Phil. Just for clarification, am I seeing APC getting sprayed on while the Full Effect is on the wheels? No mixing complications to worry about?

How much Sonax do you end up using for the whole car? A lot of people are saying that they used up a bottle after just a few washes.

you should be able to get about 8 wheels if your extremely generous or really heavy brake dust to about 12 wheels if you don't have as much brake dust.

Phil, what's your opinion about waxing wheels?

I like wheel waxes.

They have higher melting points.

That being said here is what we currently use

Auto Finesse Mint Rims

if you want more protection we use

Optimum Opti Coat

How hard is it to put on opti-coat on wheels?

Do you remove them from the car? Demount tires?

for best results I would pull the wheels off clean them up , clay and or polish if necessary, then to a quick alcohol wipe down and apply opti coat, it should last a few years.

What works best on the tire sidewalls? My tires are more of a brown color and I can't seem to find anything that keeps them looking black.

I remove my wheels twice a year and clean the inside too. It makes a difference on how the wheels look and find it easier to keep them clean.
