Spark Plug Wire R&R Help

I was reading somewhere that the "flap" on the spark plug boots are supposed to form a seal to the valve cover when connected to the spark plug.
However, mine allow for a small (about 1/4") gap between the valve cover and the flap.
When I install the plug connectors all have a nice "snap" or "click" when engaging the spark plug.
I'm using stock wires and NGK plugs.
Am I missing something here?
Thanks!

They should set flush. Push down all the way on the top of the boot to make sure.

What NGK plugs are you running ? Stock.

MINI plug wires.

Yes, using all stock parts.
So am I to assume that even after the connector snaps into place I should push down even more?

Is this happening on all the plugs or just one of them? If its all of them I would say you have the wrong plugs honestly.

Happening to all plugs.
I'm using the factory type NGK's and have measured them again the originals and both are the same height.
I wonder if I'm doing something obviously stupid???
But as I said before, all connectors snap in nicely.
Do I push down even more after that???

is the car running fine like this?

I would think if it's just the wires not down it would misfire.
