2014 CM and Speedometer

Hi All,

I'm about ready to order a new Countryman ALL4 but have a question about the 2014 models.

Will the giant speedometer be swapped out for the 2014 models currently being manufactured? Or..will this change take place with later 2014 models? Or..worse...2015 models?

Thanks in advance (if anyone knows the answer)!!!

Countryman is not changing out the central speedo for *at least* a year or two.

Probably not until 2018 when the CM gets a major update (based on the usual BMW 7 year cycle). Assuming they do a facelift in 2015 it's possible, but I wouldn't count on it.

Ahhh....I thought they were swapping it out.

I'm glad I asked though so I won't sit around waiting then.

Thanks!!!

2017 or 2018 if this thread is accurate.

I pulled the trigger a few days before I found that out because I wanted to ensure I got the big center speedo and didn't want to dally around until the 2014's entered production. I like it.

You are probably thinking of the 2014 hardtop, which will be known as the F56. It is being redesigned for 2014. According to Motoring File and others, the speedo is indeed moving to be the central gauge in front of the driver, replacing the tach.

From the early photos of the dash, the tach becomes a half-moon gauge to the left of the speedo.

There have been pictures of the 2014 F56 dash here and the general concensous has not been very positive-at all.....

It's been discussed ad nauseum around here that the ONLY model that will see a major change for 2014 is the hardtop (which will become the F56). ALL OTHER models will remain essentially the same (maybe some color and package changes, but that's it).

Wow, what a nice warm way to welcome a new forum member, especially someone who needed some quick help before making a purchase. I can't imagine what type of helpful responses you give to your students(based on your handle).....

Welcome to NAM Dan. As a soon to be new owner there is ton of info here and on Motoring Alliance. We have not even received our car yet and we know so much about it already ......
