iPhone 5?

I have a '11 R60 without connected. I just got an iPhone 5 with their new "lightning connector" which obviously will not work with the cable Mini provides to connect iPods to the auxiliary input. Apple makes an adapter (for $30 of course) which I can put on the Mini cable and make it fit the new lightning connector.

Has anyone tried this, and does it work? Guy who sold me the phone told me that the connector isn't fool proof and some functions may not work.

I have an '13 r56 without connected also, I purchased the same connector you are talking about and everything works fine. There is one tiny issue. If you use pandora on your phone you can not skip songs through the car; it just switches to your iPod music

FYI I have a '13 CMS, and an iPhone 5 as well. I've used the Mini Y-adapter and it works---but I would point out the the sound quality via the 1/8" audio out of the adapter is terrible compared to serveral other 1/8"-to-1/8" audio cables I've tried.

Perhaps mine is defective, but the high freq's are very muted over the Mini adapter. I use the adapter for USB/power, but use a second 1/8" cable for the AUX in port and get much better sound quality.

Rai1gun, I have the same thing as you. Mine sounded the same when I first got the connector but my problem was a had an EQ set on my phone, turned that off and it sounded nice and crisp. I also have my fader set towards the rear a little bit and treble all the way up. Don't know if that helps at all

i have the same issue...and then some.

1. Sound sucks....muffled. Switched EQ's on the IP5 and didnt change much.
2. Cant adjust volume on handset when plugged in to adapter and mini connector
3. Song data sometimes show, sometimes doesnt
4. System volume is all the way up...but not as loud as it should be

Overall the adaper and the mini connector are not made for eachother thus far....

Have you tried turning up the aux volume in the audio controls? It's the very last setting past the fader and gong volume

Honestly, with the standard audio system, there really is no need at all for the dongle. Navigating content on your iPhone from the HU is frustrating to say the least.

I've resorted to plugging it in only if I need a charge. Otherwise, I'm using a separate 1/8" cable running to the AUX in only. Although, it still sounds pretty mediocre with the standard stereo.
