Electrical settings reset themselves

As I walked away from the R60 the other day, I locked it with the keyless and was surprised to hear it chirp. It's been set to flash only for a year now. Then I realized the 3 second lane signal, auto door locks, DRLs and other settings were reset too.

It was easy to set everything back, but I'm surprised it changed by itself. I haven't been to the dealer, disconnected the battery or used the spare key fob, and I'm the only driver.

Has this happened to anyone else? I suppose my battery could be going bad, but it starts and runs accessories fine.

My 2012 MCS has done this...I've never been able to get to the bottom of a cause, though. You've ruled out the "other remote", a common cause.

With comfort access, I'm supposed to plug in the key now/then to let it copy the settings into its memory, but again...I've done it / not done it, yet about 1-2x I've had the settings go back to default and really couldn't explain the circumstances.

It's British-made ( in my case ) I'm just assuming the ghost of Lucas is paying a visit :-).

Could it be the fob losing the settings? How often is the battery supposed to be changes in those?

On my last clubbie it started going at about a 2 and 1/2 years. Just the one battery swap until I parted with it last month.
