What is the menu button supposed to do?

Title says it all - in a MINI with Connected, what does the button to the right of the joystick (menu) do? For me it seems to switch between the currently playing media device (sat radio, USB etc) and the phone book but that's it. In the manual it seems to indicate it should cycle through the main menu items (so from cd/multimedia -> radio -> phone -> office -> connected -> settings etc). Since I very rarely use the phone book the button is kind of pointless...unless I'm missing something.

Thanks, that's more directly related to the MINI Connected functionality whereas the menu button can be used whether you have an iPhone connected or not, it's a general purpose button for the entire system.
