Touring Tires for my MCS?? Something not so loud.

I’m getting ready to buy another new set of 215/45/17 tires for my 03’ MCS, and I was wondering if you guys could suggest more of a “touring” tire that would ride better, and most importantly…. be quieter than the tires I have now. The BFG G-Force tires I have on now (17,000 miles on them) are insanely loud at highway speeds, it’s annoying to say the least. The 11” wide Nitto TerraGrapplers on my lifted Dodge pickup are quieter than the tires on my mini….it’s crazy.

I use my car for commuting back and forth to work mostly, so I don’t really need a high performance summer tire. I want something that has decent traction for corners, long life, and something that will be quiet. Any ideas?

Almost anything is quieter than those damn tires that come with the mini.

I put some random Firestone tires on mine that were on sale for $100 each, installed, and so far have been really pleased with them. Made a huge difference in sound.

If you're not looking for performance, just do what I did: scout local places for sales and then go with something you trust. Like I said: anything is quieter than those tires.

If you really want to go silent, search Tire Rack for reviews and watch for complaints of road noise.

I don’t have “original” tires on my 03’ Mini. I’m wanting to replace my BFG G-Force Sport tires…..I’m not talking about runflats.

Bridgestone brags about how quiet their tires are and how far their golf ***** fly. Don't have any as of yet but am considering. Played a found Bridgestone ball once. No better than I hit a ball it responded about as good as that other found ball I played once.

Well, dang, you obviously don't spend enough time watching the Golf Channel. Here, I'll help you out with a couple of examples.

Hankook Ventus V12 EVO...They're quiet, inexpensive, symmetrical, excellent handling and....there's a rebate currently in effect.

+1 on these tires. I switched to these when the OEM Conti's wore out. Super quiet and a smooth ride. Don't think I'll get 50 k out of them though. They are a little soft.

Running the hankook ventus on mine.. as well. Great tire overall.. just a summer tire though so if u live in a state with winter weather you'll need all seasons or snows for the winter
