I installed an after marker XM radio (roady) through the AUX port but its a pain to change chanels ect. Has anyone found a way to get the existing stereo head unit to work on both the NAV and the satellite radio as MINI advertises the radio as satellite ready

Mini's Sirius radio can not be had with Navigation due to the fact that the antennas interfere with each other. Hopefully BMW will solve this problem soon.

XM Direct and a seperate antenna will work...

And you actually can have Sirius with Nav, MINI however didn't develop and antenna for it with their Sirius solution. You need a seperate antenna. I have the Audiovox Shuttle in my car which has Nav and have NO problems.

I believe another user here has modified the MINI Sirius solution to use a seperate antenna on his Nav equiped MINI.

The only time I've heard experienced interfernce with GPS was on a USCG bouy tender. The INMARSAT (satellite phone system) antenna was placed too close to the Differencial GPS antenna, which caused interference to the GPS system. However that was because the INMARSAT is a transmitter, neither XM, Sirius, or the MINI Nav are transmitters, all are passive receivers...
