Having trouble with my 06 Cooper S ABS system. Ever since I have owned this Mini the ABS has not worked. I had it diagnosed that the front wheel speed sensor is where the problem was. After replacing the sensor the ABS lights will be off and stay off when you first start the car and once you take off and hit the brakes, though the wheels are not slipping, the ABS will activate and the lights will come back on. It looks as though the drivers' axle has been replaced so I am wondering if whatever the ABS sensor is sensing could be the issue. Any help or knowledge about how the ABS system works on R53s is much appreciated.

When you drive and slam on the brakes is the ABS doing its job?

 

The ABS does not activate.

 

Then you abs pump and/or module is not working.

 

It pumps when I first start the car and hit the brakes though.
