R60 Masterlist of 2013 Dealer Programmable Options?
Masterlist of 2013 Dealer Programmable Options?
In 2005, when I picked up my R53, there was a list going around NAM of dealer programmable options. For the GEN-2 series of MINIs, I've seen a lot of activity in the coding threads for folks wanting to just hack the car and do the coding themselves after possession of the car.
However, does anyone have a current list of programmable options?
I'm specifically interested in 2013, Countryman options, but really even general options for the current lineup would be helpful.
:::
If no list of dealer programmable options is around, reviewing the modules described in the R60 coding guide, it would appear that the following are dealer programmable and the remaining are user programmable only. Anyone confirm?
User Programmable only:
Enable Video/DVD in Motion for Connected
Remove Startup Legal Screen from Connected / Nav
Disable Over-Estimated Speed Reading
Disable Passenger Seatbelt Warning
Disable Driver Seatbelt Warning
Dealer Programmable:
Close Windows & Sunroof w/ Lock on Keyfob
Unlock Doors When Key Is Removed
Opening Door Does Not Stop Window Roll-Up (60 Seconds)
Holding Fob Trunk Button Sounds Panic Alarm
Sunroof One-Touch Vent/Open/Close
Rain Sensor Closes Sunroof
Disable One-Touch Power Windows for Driver/Passenger
Enable Alarm System
Enable Weather-Band Radio
Disable Key Gong / Door Open Reminder
Lock Speed To Center Tach Display
Fogs Come On With Parking Lights / Headlights
Fogs Stay On With High Beams
Fogs Stay On When High Beams Are Flashed
Double-Blink / Fast Blink on Hazard Flashers
Welcome Lighting (All Variations)
This is my guess above, not verified.

Well, actually, all the options are user programmable with NCS Expert; no need to see a dealer. There are some exceptions for the R60 since not all programming options on the R56 (on which this list is based) will work on the R60:
- Holding Fob Trunk Button Sounds Panic Alarm (need alarm installed, not sure if it works on an R60)
- Rain Sensor Closes Sunroof (does not work on an R60)
- Enable Alarm System (you must have the alarm module installed)
- Disable Over-Estimated Speed Reading (only removes the over-estimation for the tach-based speed readout; center speedometer will still read over-estimated speed)
The rest should work just fine.
Also, for folks wishing to replace various lighting elements with LEDs, there are settings to turn off the warm and cold bulb checks. If you do not turn off the bulb checks, you will get a "bulb-out" display. Yes, you can add load resistors to the LEDs to fool the system into thinking there are still incandescent bulbs in the car, but they get terribly hot and it's much, much easier to code the bulb checks out.

HTH,
yuuuup, as I noted, that's where I pulled most of these options to start with...

HTH,
My objective is to merely have the dealer pre-code as much as possible, so I may not need to dive into getting the cable and doing them myself for awhile. There's every chance that the dealer would still throw up a 'dunno?' shrug when asked to code. On my 2011 I had a shortlist of items and the MA and SA played dumb. I was on a time limit to pick up the kids so it wasn't worth kicking them for it.
I'm not confident enough to do the coding on my own, so I asked the dealer today while in for an oil change...no luck. They couldn't do it.

Also, remember that the origin of some of the MINI controller module's settings may be from the BMW world and, thus, only supported in the BMW "hardware" line-up. For instance, the MINI's FRM module has setting for "angel eyes"!
HTH,
You may want to check out the NCS Expert Directory in the 2nd Generation>Modifications>Electrical thread. Perhaps there is a NCS Expert near you. Most folks will make the changes at club events, or come to you or for a modest sum/case of micro-brews!
Cheers,

Sure. That's why I put the obviously dodgy ones under 'user programmable only'
I might end up going the cable route. I just wanted to ask them for any initial config before pickup where feasible.
Thanks for looking!
