What's the World Coming To?

My day was going along fairly smoothly until my fiance called messaged me with some bad news. Someone hit my car while it was parked on the street. All I could do was laugh out of frustration because this is the second time this has happened within 9 months. Reason #1000000 that I need to leave DC.

Sad day. I live in Chicago where the drivers are equally as ridiculous I'd say. Although I love the city, I won't ever live somewhere that I have to park on the street.

I got hit in the front end while parked the day after I got my clubbie. Luckily it wasn't too bad, but still. They really need to re-think how drivers licences are earned.

The first time it was parked for the night near our apartment. This time she was parked at work. We contemplated whether paying the $200 insurance deductible outweighed paying 160/mth to park under my building.

The funny thing is that after the first time my fiance was driving into the neighborhood and saw a car slam into the door of a parked car. She waited and watched and the car started to pull off so she cut them off. It was a guy teaching his daughter to drive. He was also teaching her how to run from the site of an accident since she had no permit. The guy tried to swap seats before the cops made it.

I feel for you, this sort of thing really pisses me off.

It's amazing how much lack of respect there is in the Los Angeles area. Idk how many door dents I've had on my 2012 coupe due to people not being careful, not caring.

One time I happened to be in the car when someone parked right next to me and flung their door open and whack! Luckily the door flung open and hit the black wheel arch so the door bounced back....person closed their door and started to walk like it didn't even, almost tore his head off....this incident is just too common.
