I thought I got a lot of attention with my MINI before - (now that's a loaded statement. Won't go there) ... I've just finished Adding Cal. Flames, Cooper side Stripe, and window tint flames. Now it's time for the motor. Gotta be able to back these look up -- I want more POWER! ..... I am in no way affiliated with these dudes. Flames were awesome price too ... under $150 and top quality. People think they are painted on .... Check out fastflames.com if you wanna see their graphics. Just don't get the same ones if you live near me!

Sure. Let me figure out where to load them -- gallery or a home page.

Thanks for the comments.

You wanted a bigger pic? Here ya go ... but the reflection of the cement driveway makes the paint look bad. Darn that shiny finish.

I was just thinking that the engine mods maybe should have come first, cause now your going to have every car with an exhaust pipe the size of a grape fruit wanting to race you

>>I was just thinking that the engine mods maybe should have come first, cause now your going to have every car with an exhaust pipe the size of a grape fruit wanting to race you old fart. MAYBE it was because I had the top open and my Harman Kardon's pumping out the Beach Boys they didn't take me seriously. ..... But the point is, I had the same thoughts as you, but I've gotten just the opposite reception. They are cool. Great price and great quality .... still need to see how they weather. I love 'em

Those are exactly the type of flames I've been looking for. Can you tell me which ones they are on the fastflames site? Or maybe even a part number?

One other question - Are they vinyl stick-on or magnetic?

Thanks!

BTW, I'm in Virginia. Is that too close to have the same flames as you?

Cory

Naw. You're not too close. They are vinyl but offer magnetic one in a diff. design. If you go to there web site .... I use http://www.FASTFLAMES.COM ... and that jumps to their new site. FastFlames is easier for me to remember. And they just put my car up there as the link to the Tribal Flame, so you can't miss it. Except the photo of my car was before I added the stripes. I had looked for 6 months and had almost given up, when I stumbled across them. The artist is Art Himsl who is an ORIGINAL California hot rod flame air brush artist from the early days. So they are 100% authentic. I'm calling today to order another set for MY BONET!!!!! And like I said ... $150 they can't be beat. Even if they don't last as long as the $250 solid color vinyals, I'd rather put another set on they are so cool.

If you get them, email me -- it's on my profile --- and I'll tell you what to look out for. They are a little difficult to separate from the carrier layer and take a calm head. I was lucky I only had 2 small rips. But Like my 16 yr old twin boys say ... dad you're going to fast for anyone to notice. No worries.

Hope this helps.

This was my CONCEPT car before I found these flames. And it's just 'cuz I grew up in the 70s in Ohio wishing I could have a cool flame job like Calif. cars, that I went with these. I almost bought the Cooper Flag flames like you've got. The stripes are from Cooper Flags as a matter of fact ..... I like them both, as you will see from my concept design ..... I added the graphics to a photo so I could make color decisions, etc. But the cal flames kinda changed the concept ... don't know about the roof yet. Have been talking to Cooper Flags about a flaming roof.

Please don't misunderstand me here. I like the look all of it.

However the side stripes are in the same style as the 60's Mustangs and GT40s. It makes me think of a Ford insted of a MINI.

It's the same as putting yellow stripes on a brg. That is a Lotus thing so to me it just isn't right to do that on a MINI.

No Worries Jack. They are indeed similar to GT stripes. I can see you are a purist. Well, if you can take an English born purebread and paint California TRIBAL flames on her side, then purity goes out the window. I think the Mini is a platform for true expression and individuality. If it wasn't a cool car you wouldn't be able to get away with GT stripes anyway. Think about GT stripes on a Camry .... I thought about diff stripes ... maybe removing the top thin stripe so it would be different than the GT. But if you are into desktop publishing, you've seen the FRENCH lines or borders used in Quark & Pagemaker, et al. ... fat-thin-fat .... thin-fat-thin ..... The GT designer was inspired by something, too. But I make this promise to you all .... I will never put a Ford-Woody auto body on my Mini. That's one of MY pet-peeves.

As a matter of fact, MINIUSA should be sued by the FTC/FCC for misleading advertising by creating this image of individuality and then turning around and behaving like a stuck-up-sticky-wicket when owners want to mod their cars. They instead should embrase it, and charge huge lisensing fees to manufacturers who want Mini-Mods sanctioned by BMW. ... Sorry. Point is that Mini is a blank canvas and cool enough to carry off a myraid of design stylings. ... Party on, dude.

Buck,

A question for you. Why didn't you stick to the concept look insted of what you now have?

Jack

Yeah .... Well ..... I thought I had perfected the concept but the 1976 teenager in me who always wanted a car with this style of flames, pulled out the plastic and ordered them before I knew what hit me. Now I've got to re-evaluate. I haven't decided about the roof yet. I want engine mods first. Cooper Flags wants an additional $250 (I think) for the side-panel-flags. .... I tell ya, there is so much I want to do and so little MONEY to do them all. Just like being a kid in a penney candy store. I want it all ... so where do I begin? The middle of course!

Sorry to hear that D. ... I originally ordered thru their web site and had them in 3 days. I never tried calling. I was going to try today, but never got around to it. ..... AND now that you mention it .... I have sent them some emails lately and never got a reply, which I was a little miffed about. I thought they kudda said thanks for the post. But ya know, that seems to be the way people are doing business these days. OutMotoring even says they only want web business ... no phone calls. But it does **** ya off trying to give someone money and them not making an effort to take it. ...

Hey, If I've still got your attention .... I ran over a dam sidewalk at the Micky-Ds drive thru ... The girl at the window liked my car so much she gave me a extra-LARGE ice cream cone -- man it was huge! .... As I pulled away greedily waiting to devour the creamy goodness, I hit the end of the curb, went over the sidewalk, and ended up crushing the cone in my left hand -- breaking off the top -- and catching the ice cream in my right just before it landed in my lap
