TSW Rotors?

How are they? I am thinking about redoing my brakes, and looking for the most cost effective yet quality components. The price is right... how about the quality?

Was planning on using them with EBC pads...

WMW does not sell anything but quality as far as I know,
BUT, a rotor is a rotor. Call NAPA or other local parts stores and get the lowest cost rotor you can.
It is not rocket surgery, just a lump of steel.

If you want slots or holes, that is another issue.

+1

I replaced my brakes this past winter and found these for the front...good price at $30 a piece with free shipping and they have coated hats. Looks like there are only 2 left. These are 294mm....for gen2 CooperS. Didn't notice which model mini you had. If you have a nonS, I'm sure you could find the smaller size for around the same price online.

I ran with TSW rotors all the way around with EBC Redstuff for 2 years on my R53. i would changed out the pads for EBC Yellowstuff for track day events after 3 different track events my TSW front rotors developed major cracks in them. I replaced the fronts with a BBK, still running the rears

If it's street driving, yes.

If it's seeing track time, no.

I'd rather have track quality even when street driving. You just never know...

I agree, within reason--I'd rather have a good set of rotors that are overkill than cheap rotors, but the reality is for a car that isn't pushed hard the cheaper rotors will do fine.

Quality, slotted, track capable Centric Powerslot rotors can be had for 75 to 80 dollars each if you shop around. How cheap do they have to be?

Those are cheaper than what the poster was looking at, so it shouldn't be an issue.

I've had both, and have used both on the track. I currently have the powerslots on. I was happy with the very Fremax, but when it was time to replace them, they were on backorder--they come from South America, Brazil I think, and it's hit or miss wether Way has them in stock. So I went with the powerslots.

The one advantage of the powerslots IMHO over the freemax is they are nice looking, hands down; they look like a two piece rotor, very nicely done.

They've both held up equally well. My next set of rotors (and rear caliper) will be something entirely different (aluminum wave) for the track, but if I was sticking with my current caliper, I'd probably do the powerslots again.
