Bass blockers w/ sub?
Hi all. I just got done with a small install of an aftermarket sub/amp/LOC in my 2011 R56 w/HK system (Thanks to Kevin from IA for some wiring advice he provided). Sounds pretty good so far, but still have some tweaking to do. I attached a picture of the 90% complete setup without the false floor.
On to my question.....I am currently running the Bass level from the HU at between -8 and -10 to minimize the lows out of the HK stock speakers. I'm contemplating adding some bass blockers to the woofers (front and rear) to cut these frequencies out on the post-amp side and push the Bass EQ up a bit from the HU to the LOC (pre-amp). I'd probably cut the stock speakers at between 200hz and 400hz and let the sub take care of the low end. Will I be losing more than I gain here? I love to hear your thoughts. Thanks.

Thanks for the feedback. I've already supplemented the stock HK speakers with a sub and amp to boost my low end, so now it's more of a question of making the sub sound the best I can with the existing speakers. I definitely agree the stock HK sounds great, but I was missing a strong bottom too much.
Then you don't know any better...lol
