Former Bimmer owner gone MINI (Not that there's much of a difference)
So October of 2012, I sold my E36 BMW 325i when I moved to Texas.
I had been looking for work till mid February of this year. Landed a good job, and now I'm about to go finance a '07 MINI Cooper S, and I couldn't be more excited.
Now for the specifics.
2007 Cooper S
90,000 Miles
Mellow Yellow
Leatherette interior
and of course.... a Manual.
(I leave automatics for the guys with something else to do with that right hand ;] lol... )
Any thing I should know about maintenance for a Cooper with 90k miles?
Also I'm in the market for some nice deep inset rims and a nice set of coilovers, exhaust and also how high can i tweak the boost, or should i leave it at 11psi?

Welcome!
Where in Texas are you?
I can't address your questions other than to say I hope you are getting the car for a very good price. If you are spending low 5 figures (as opposed to high 4), I know of a 2010 JCW in San Antonio with only 20K-ish miles for the high-teens. Helluva deal!

Hi, DPMiNiS -
I'd be really interested to read your perspective abut what strikes you as "Bimmer" about the MiNi. I've never owned a BMW - I suppose in a way you could say my 13 Cooper S is my first. I did have an opportunity to drive a friend's Z4. At the time , my own car was a 2001 Miata, and the differences were tough to get used to at first - esp the fact that the Z4's reverse was in the NW quadrant of the shift pattern while the Miata's was in the SE quadrant. The other difference were the stem controls - lights, wipers, etc.
Now that I have the MiNi, those are the things that still seem pure BMW to me based on my limited experience. I'd be interested in your take on it.

OP, like any car approaching 90k miles, there could be numerous maint. items needing attention. Bushings, coolant hoses, sensors, etc. Find a good indy mechanic near you and just drive the car and enjoy for a few months. Once you know the car is solid and doesn't require anything major, then have at it with the mods. Driving it for a bit may change the course you take with the way you mod it.
I ended up buying a '13 MCS because the used one I took in for a PPI needed nearly $6,000 in repairs at the dealer. Mini's can be very rewarding but need some TLC too.

Check this out. USAA may even be your friend on this car. Hint.

I'm not associated with the sale, but I know the owner and I've seen the car. Both are very nice! The car is a steal at the price he's asking.
