R53 jcw brake help

Hi would just like to ask if somebody can help me in completing this system. I have an r53 jcw caliper with carriers. Would just like to confirm if these are the things that i need.

1. Front rotors (please recommend whats the best front rotors for this one.) i think an r56 rotor can fit here.

2. Brakepads ( for daily/street use twisty roads) brakepads for r53 or r56 mcs!

3. Brake sensor ( do i need a nee one)

4. Ss lines ( is there a set where u can buy the r56 sslines in front and r53 in rear)

5.do i need bushings or whatever is that called

6. Do i need to buy any rebuild kits?

Thanks

We have several rotor options that are super affordable for you
Plain face:
http://www.waymotorworks.com/wmw-joh...0-r53-r52.html
Drilled and slotted:
http://www.waymotorworks.com/wmw-dri...-cooper-s.html

You can reuse your old pad sensor as long as your light is not on.
As for lines we can put a set of our WMW ones together for $99 for you

We have some of the ECS Geomet Brake Rotors for the Gen 1 R50 R52 R53 JCW .

Crossdrilled / Slotted Fronts JCW

Rear

Slotted Front JCW

Rear

Our ECS Geomet Service Kits include Rotor in the same type above with sensors and Hawk HPS Pads.

For example:

Brake Lines we have ECS Exact Fit SS kits.

Production from 4/2003-

For the brake bushings inspect the JCW fronts, make sure they slide very easy.

Boot kits look like this:

Rears share the same caliper hardware as the R50 R52 R53 non JCW. Check them for wear and easy of movement.

Hi don't mean to hijack your post but I have a similar question. I have a 2004 JCW. how can I tell if it is has JCW brakes or just R53 brakes. the front rotors are 11 in diameter. Ive attached a couple pics. thanks for your help.

R53 JCW and R56 S brake rotors are 294 mm diameter.

I think its 279mm (11 inch) for R53 S (non-JCW).

R53 JCW calipers are red.

Looks like those are regular R53 calipers and rotors.

Minibeagle -

Thanks

alanzilo -

Look like the stock brakes. The JCW "Red" brakes were an upgraded option at that time.

The Stock rotor size for Gen 1 R50 r52 r53 fronts are 276x22 or about 10.86".

The JCW Rotor size for Gen 1 R50 R52 R53 fronst are 294x22 or about 11.57"

----------------------------------------------------------------------------

2004 MINI Cooper S (stock non JCW rotors) Front Rotor Cross drilled / slotted.

2004 MINI Cooper S Rear Cross drilled and slotted ( Same on JCW and non JCW ) 10.19" 259x10

Thanks and hope that helps.

Let me know if your need anything else.
