Are any of the carbon fiber pieces OEM? If so, which ones?

Yes, only the door pull handle is OEM. the rest are a combination of CarbonMini-(dash & center console).. and NVD Autosport (door rings and ebrake handle).

I like it! What tires (and size) did you go with on the new wheels?

I kept my Kumho's but they'll be torn up by the end of next weekend. Depending on how they feel on the track, I may go with a set of HRE wheels and a fresh set of Kumho's for future track dates. Haven't settled on my eventual street tires yet.

Hey Tim,
On the Volks, I stayed with the stock Kuhmo V700's...wheel specs are 17x7.5 +37 offset. I loved Toyo R888's on my old GT3RS for street and track use but they are also a summer tire with soft compound and wear very quickly...I highly recommend giving them a try. Depending on how much you track your car, you might just want to bite the bullet and go full track rubber (Hoosier etc) since you're already looking at new rims... no street tire will compare to track tires.

That is weird. I ran both R888's and R6's on my 997 GT3RS before I sold it. And I run R6's now on my E46 M3 race car. I'll probably go with hoo-hoo's on my track wheels for the GP but I was going to give the Kumho's a shot since I've never run them before...and they're already mounted.

The GP is going to be my DD, so I'm looking for something a little longer lasting. I'm hoping someone out there has something to say about Yoko's, Conti's or Pilots in this particular size.

Thanks, Tim!

we have similar taste in vehicles so did you not like the R888's ? I havent checked to see if they are available for a 7.5" wheel. I like the feel of the stock Kuhmo's but they are surprisingly loud for not being super low-profile. I have direct experience with all those tires on your list but unfortunately none within OEM Mini specs -that is- besides the Continental run-flats that were on my '12 FJCW R55...they were not bad for a daily driver despite their harsh reviews... I personally have nothing bad to say about them. Sounds like you have a good handle on what you're looking for- keep me posted on your trials and tribulations.

Update:
I installed the roll cage today... only needed my wife's hand when installing the "X" brace.. BR Racing really did a top notch job with these units. I had planned on installing it on Wednesday after the coilovers get installed...thought about tackling that today on my own but decided to wait since the car will need to get an alignment done. So I had some free time and knocked it out... worst part about it was doing it in on and off rain... damn PNW weather!
I'll take better photos once we get a break in the rain- so maybe in July

I did like the R888's but ended up settling for the R6's even though they cost more. I had a similar experience with NT01's on my M3 before I changed to R6's. I usually get a good 6-8 heat cycles per set now and sell the old ones to other drivers in DE groups who aren't depending on the same grip I need in race group.

What I liked most about the pattern was it reminded me of the carbon weave found in a Pagani Huayra... now that thing is drool worthy
