Which spark plugs for a 2007 MCS with a JCW tuning kit .

I have read the spark plugs thread....but honestly its all greek to me. I need to change the spark plugs...and really just want to buy them and hand them over to my mechanic. Can someone tell me which ones? I have a 2007 MCS with a JCW tuning kit. Idle is rough now and would like NGK. Thanks...my head hurts from all the info out there.

What MINI do you have in Cooper S, just want to make sure you are not the convertible 2007 Gen 1 ? Do you have the last 7 digits of your Vin.

Newer body style.

R56 MINI Cooper S 2007

The JCW tuning kit for the Cooper S :

Runs on stock Cooper S plugs.

ILZKBR7A-8G NGK # 5992 are the factory MCS and JCW plugs, only difference is that the JCW change interval is 30K miles instead of 60K.

Also I should mention if you do it your self remember to torque them down. The tightening torque: 14.5 lbs/ft thread diameter/pitch M12 x 1.25 socket size 14mm.

For your Sunscreen issue
IMO installing a new sunroof shade is quite easy. Here are the steps to do it.

1. First remove the glass -- there are 3 T25 Torx Screws on each side.
Place glass soft safe area so it won't get sratched or damaged.

2. You will see the location of the roller tabs, on each side of the sunroof - these just "clip" on and off. You can use use a screwdriver or flat-tip plastic wedge to remove them.

3. Slide the old/broken shade off the rails and insert the new one.

4. The plastic tabs "click" back into place.

5. Install and adjust the glass. To adjust it you will be tightening the center screw.(not all the way - you need the glass to move up and down on the ends)

6. You will then push down on the front end of the glass from outside and push up on the rear end of the glass from inside - get someone to help in this situation.

7. You will need to tighten the screws while holding the glass in position.
You will want the glass to be tilted on the rear and "Up" in order to help it open when in the hot weather.

Hope this helps.

I have only the single prong R56 MINI 2007 +. ILZKBR7A-8G like mentioned above.

Whats plugs did someone show you? Unless they got confused with the first gen R50 R52 R53 MINI that had four prong platinum?

Not to confuse anyone but we now have a Brisk plug in the stock heat range for the Turbo MINIs if you don't want to use the NGKs
