How many car seats will fit on the bench seat?

Could someone please confirm if 3 little kids on car seats would fit on the back bench seat?

When they introduce the extended countryman, "FAMILYMAN" the first mini with 3 rows of seats you will be in luck.

In all honesty you should go try it out at the dealership. It really depends on the width of the seats. They might actually make it across.

There's always the official MINI kiddie roof rack. Kidding, really I'm kidding. FWIW my 29er mtn bike fits with the front wheel off and seats down.

Thanks for the quick replies! I guess I cannot really justify getting a 2nd MINI so that I can take the whole family for a ride lol

IMO, if you are talking about the cradle style ones, not likely. Even if you did, when you bump up to the next size up car seats it would be impossible. If you are talking just 3 booster style seats, I would say to try it out

Here is a post from another carseat thread:

After having our countryman a few weeks here with the bench seat option, I think two would be the comfortable max, we have a Recaro Proride for our daughter, which is one of the bigger seats on the market. There is no way you could fit 3 of those across the back. However depending on what types of seats are needed, you t be able to for squeeze some in. Say a infant carrier and maybe a booster or convertible seat. The other issue, is that with our rear bench seat there are only two sets of LATCH anchors. Two for the far right, two for the far left, and if you had a center mount you'd Have to use the inner hooks from the outer seats. There are still seat belts for all three, so you could use those if needed. Hope this helps some.

Thanks again everyone for the replies! We were at the dealer today actually and they had a JCW Countryman with a bench seat and so I had the kids sit in the back to try and eyeball the space. They were very comfy without the car seats and it was great hearing my 2 y.o. scream, "Daddy's car!" while in the showroom. lol Currently, two girls use booster seats and my son is on a medium sized, forward facing car seat. Just from eye balling the kids in the back, it would have been a super tight fit--i should have asked if they would have let me do a dry fitting of the seats while at the dealer. lol. Oh well, maybe next time.

I don't think it would be unreasonable at all to dry fit the seats. It's going to be a deciding factor for you during the shopping process! Good luck and hope they fit!

I have an All4 with the bench...I think that 2 boosters and a forward facing seat would fit. I have the Recaro ProSport (18.5" wide) and have had an adult and a 7 year old in the back seat in addition.

The dealer would more than likely be happy to have you try a test fit on a countryman with a bench ... It's all about making a sale!

You could try the Clek Foonf, but I still think 2 seats is the maximum you can safely fit.

Can you tell us the model of the Britax and booster seats? (I have Britax Marathon seats and they seem pretty wide.)

We have 3.5 y.o. twins, and have suffered through all the trials associated selecting safe, long-lasting car seats, beginning with the infant carrier systems, et al. Currently, i am using Britax Marathons in the CM and Britax Frontier 85s In our minivan. Neither of these seats can be used three-across in anything smaller than a Suburban, Excursion or full size van. However, we also have a set of Sunshine Kids Radian XT seats that have a narrow footprint and are actually FAA certified for fitting airline seats. I think that these would fit three-across in the CM. point of reference: my good friend has a 9yo and 4yo twins and uses these seats in her Saab 9-3. Good luck

I'm curious about 2 Radian XT's next to each other if there would be good space for an adult?
