Anyone else had tires wear like this? Really loud!

I bought a set of the BFG G-Force Tires for my Mini Cooper S last year. Had an alignment done, and suspension bushing, upper shock mounts, and new shocks installed while I was at it.

The tires started off great, but they slowly got louder and louder. Now, after 15,000 miles on them...they make more road noise that the huge Nitto TerraGrapplers that I have on my Dodge truck. I pulled one of the tires off to look at it and see why they were getting so loud. It looks like the tread lugs on the outside of the tires are all wearing unevenly.....they are all at different heights. You can feel them when you run your hand over the tire. The rest of the tread is fine.....just the outside is wearing weird. It's like this on all 4 tires.

I check the air in the tires on a regular basis, and rotate them every 5000 miles. This car only sees city and highways too and from work...no racing or autocrossing.

Should I contact BFG and see if they will warranty these tires?? I've never had tires do this to me...and these were not cheap by any means. I can't believe they are already like this at 15,000 miles.

Anyone else own a set of these tires? Good/Bad luck with them?

It's hard to see in the picture, but the big lugs on the left side are all wearing at different heights....I'm sure that's what's making them so loud.

Mini's tend to wear the inside edges of tires....
Looking at the wearbars, looks like there is not much life left...might be beyond the treadlife warrenty....

The odd wear is actually towards the outside of the tires. They only have 15,000 miles on them....that is not acceptable for a good set of tires. I believe the tread warranty on them goes until 35,000 miles.

Since I began rotating my MINI tires every 2500 miles these issues went away. Previously I rotated them every 5-6,000 miles and they only lasted 18-20,000 miles until they needed replaced. Just sayin' that MINI's require rotating more often than other cars I've owned.

I read some reviews on the ones I think you have and they kind of say that the rumble is very loud. You seem to fit the norm here. Also being high-performance summer tires they tend to wear more quickly, usually 20k miles is a good life from my experience.

I only get 10-15k out of a set of tires...but I drive pretty hard.

Are they unidirectional and if so have you rotated them correctly (wrong direction will destroy them)

When I read that you had the G-Force's, I wasn't surprised at all. I had those when I first got my car and they were horribly loud. I swapped them out for a different brand/tire and it was a night and day difference.

Looks like cupping/scalloping to me, which is bad.

Porthos thanks for that link. OP, my tires have the exact same issue, as did the previous set. Loud as heck and bumpy. FYI I have always run Hankook Ventus HRII. I try and rotate every oil change (3000mi), but missed a few times. I'm starting to think the suspension and/or hubs are needing replacement now that the car's got almost 100k. That link pretty lets me know that's probably the issue.
