Help Help Help! Exhaust troubles.

Since TotalMini is down and i have had no response on mini torque I've travlled across the pond to ask you guys for some help

Found the below exhaust from a r56 08 plate cooper for sale.

I have a 2011 r57 mini one.

Will the exhaust be a straight swap and fit it fit. I don't see why not but I phoned mini who say they look to use the same exhaust but have different part numbers. They also said the cooper has two different sizes a 48mm and something else. I also phoned scorpion directly and they said they don't make an exhaust for the r57 due to strength or something cos of the roof weight on the back? Surely the chasis takes the weight not the exhaust lol?! :S

I'm now stuck but really want the zorst. Any help would be gladly appreciated. The exhaust is 6 hours away from me so can't exactly trial fit

Not sure about fit between the two unfortunately. I wouldn't think that the weight of the car would matter, however having never seen the underside of a drop top I wouldn't be surprised if there is a chassis brace or something similar that could be in the way on an r 57 vs an r 56. Most of us over here would look at the price tag( roughly 460 us dollars) and stray away from it, a custom muffler shop would be able to build you a nice 2.5 inch exhaust system for less then that around here( Kansas city area) just seemed a shame that NAM members would leave you hanging. Keep us (or at least me) posted on what you decided, and hell if it works, I'd love to hear a sound clip of it. Bust of luck and happy motoring!
