How to kill your turbo in a R56 Mini. Any thoughts?
http://www.jmturbocoopers.com/ Did he really claim to use a turbo timer. Uh oh. Thats going to start a debate.
I raised the question a couple of months ago about these guys. I haven't ordered anything from them because I'm still on the fence. OutMotoring distributes their turbos. I need to hear some postive responses from some guinnea pigs before I seriously consider them.
oil check and cool down

Don
They are selling GFB parts which is an Aulstralian company that I see on Mighty Car Mods youtube channel all the time. So I know that is a good product. Also I have been looking at Whiteline sway bar end links for a hot minute too. So far so good. I might bite the bullet. As far as some of the stuff like the manual boost controller and turbo timer I am not sure I have heard a lot of mixed information regarding that over the 4 years I have had my MINI. I am cruising this website at this very moment and editing this because what I just found. WTF 15" REAR, YES REAR, brake rotors and 6 pot, like GP but only rear, brake calipers. Oh mai gawd they even have 8 pot front calipers with 16" rotors.

6 Pot in the front and rear with that rotor size!!!!??? If your toe twitches you'll slam your organs right out of your nose! Haha! That would be some stopping power!
It is not a secret but quite misunderstood that not all synthetics are really synthetics thanks to the Castrol lawsuit against Mobil about 20 years ago, which Mobil lost. Now super refined dino mineral oils can be labeled synthetic in the USA.
However, in Europe, only fully ester bond synthetic oils can be labeled synthetic so the A3/B3 spec is a good spec to go with. These are much more stable than super refined dino oils, our so called synthetic oils in the USA.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I was always under the impression that It's not gonna stop any faster than grip will allow. If you slam your factory brakes and the wheels lock up, you need more grip, not more brake.
IMO, the only real advantage to upgrading brakes to larger discs and calipers is if you track or auto-x and are more concerned about being able to shed speed over and over again without experiencing fade and the like.

Six piston calipers spread the braking load out over a larger area, meaning that they can use larger brake pads than a single-piston caliper. The brake pad's increased surface area is what actually enables the shorter stopping distances.
Six piston calipers tend to give the braking system a sharper and more linear response for two reasons. First, their smaller overall piston area uses less fluid than the single large piston found in stock-style calipers, meaning that the brake pedal must travel less distance to apply them fully. Secondly, high quality "mono-block" calipers flex a great deal less than stock units; caliper flex in stock units can absorb a noticeable amount of braking power and travel.
