R56 Water Pump leak

I found the water pump is leaking on my R56 it has just over 77,000 miles on it. I have also seen a loss in power on the vehicle. Could this be related?

Did you have the waterpump replaced under the recall on the 2007 - 2009 turbos. If you did not your local mini dealership shoud do this formyou for free. If you have had this done already best of luck to you . I just had to have the thermostat housing replaced on my mini at a whopping 600 $.... At any rate good luck ....

Would a thermostat housing failing cause the waterpump to fail as well? Reason i ask, I just changed the thermostat housing because I had over heating issues and I had leaking (a lot) by the thermo and seemed to be the culprit. When I got everything back together, I still had leaking but now it was by the passenger side. Looking with a flashlight down through the headlight, there is coolant by the pump now.
