Just wondering what it is worth... trying to do some accurate equity estimates. I know what KBB says...

but what do you think my car would be worth tif it were:
2003 JB/JB Cooper
Stock
All 3 pckges

12,000 miles

Excellent condition, as in as good as it could possibly be.. cleaned every weekend, waxed twice sine rec'd in sept. and the engine bay been cleaned regularly and no dents, dings, wheel rash.. none.

I'm thinking 17.5 - whats your estimate?

No opinion, but I do have a data point from Northern CA. I just sold my 02 Cooper with Sport Package, 32k miles, clean but not perfect condition for $17.5k.

I would think you could easily get $19k for your car in the SF or LA areas.

Well, after some research on sites this evening, it seems like 18.5 is within reach in the Philly area... The car is trully in wonderful order, so i think that is reasonable

$45 doesn't seem bad, I thought maybe it was a percentage of the sale or something. I know my local paper charges $15, and you can run it until you sell it. Not bad at all. I think Auto Trader broadens the range quite a bit, but it's been years since I sold a car on my own.

What about trade - in value? Although I know when I looked into, I saw myself getting hammered on it.

i didn't even get an appraisal from the dealer... no way it will be even close to what it is worth. I'm just gonna hunker down with all the info.. and sell it on my own.

Autotrader for $45 seems to be where i will sell it. I might put the ad on craiglist too..

Sdanaher,

I'd also look at AutoSpies.com for selling it. I don't know their pricing, but their exposure is absolutely FAB!

Otherwise, I'd price it according to eBay's previous sales matching builds, miles & colors like yours. [I once thought MINI colors would transcend traditional residual values. No matter, but that's not the case anymore.]

Q: Got a friend with better eBay feedback? That's a fine market,- carefully.

If close to a MINI dealer, park it there every Saturday night/Sunday morning, with a large, "Special" sign. All IMHO.

Good luck!

"anyone have recommendation on where to sell...?"

Autotrader.com is good but you might also want to take a look at cars.com.

They have a run-till-it-sells package which is similar to Autotrader's.

One advantage the cars.com site has is that many newspapers use it for their online car ads. So your ad can be seen by people visiting those newspaper sites as well as by people who go directly to cars.com.
