just an annual event put on by our local dealer to get all the AZ mini owners out and park on their race track and eat, mingle....and giveaway awards for the best minis....good stuff! it was just seriously bright out with the sun directly above...makes it hard for pics sometimes.

for the really big ones - go here:

http://www.acurainspired.com/gallery...0&uuid=440

dealer's race car #1

dealer's race car #2

you could buy this one from the dealer for $40,000!

dealer's race car #3

dealer's race car #4

i call this the land rover edition

nicely done purely stock car for autox

minicoop78's car, over 220hp now on it..

travelling in style...

simon's (aka limmey) car

"Heck, let's marry the corner!" - so true...

hundreds of owners showed up!

one of those accidental pics but i think it worked...

winner's of the people's choice awards. a cooper S on the left (hideous, but i give him credit for going all out - good for him!)....candace's car - sugar - in the middle, and pat's classic on the right! kinda cool that 2 of the AZ desert rat pack won 2 out of 3 awards.

bad pic, would have loved to get them all without anyone around...

SO FUN! Some of those MINIs (esp. minicoop78's) are very amazing!

I'm jealous -- it's very cool that the dealer puts such an awesome event on. I'm incredibly impressed!!!!

i forgot to add. they also catered lunch for us. had a special offer for 20% off all parts as 10% of all JCW items. they were doing service specials all days (the service dept. is normally closed on saturdays)....afterwards, they all trucked down to phoenix international raceway to do victory laps on the track following the pace car before the races.

we're going to need more room next year. over 250 MINIs showed up I believe.

Wasn't that a great time??? We're on The List and are living vicariously through a friend. Should get production date in the next few weeks. We're still trying to decide on color - not that seeing 250 MINIS altogether helped us make up our mind!!! Whatever color she ends up being will be fine - as long as it's ours!

Kudos to MINI North Scottsdale for a beautiful day! Can't wait til next year's event!

We can't wait for you guys to get your car. I think you should keep your color a secret until it arrives.

Glad you had fun on Saturday!!

Actually, haf, this is a dealer race prep'ed car for the MINI spec class. Notice the roll cage and the larger brakes you can see in this picture.

Thanks Dom for the clarification!

Someday I'll get a Digital SLR with a long zoom lens and won't have to do such a crappy job of blurring the pics!

I love the brakes on Dealer race car # 2... Do we know what they are? Does anyone know if there is an upgraded brake kit for AP brakes avaliable for the mini.

random note- for brake upgrade installation... how hard is this to change it out?

Love the pictures. Looks like a great day in the sun with some MINIs.

Nice pics. The silver MCS costing $40k: looks like it has Brembo brakes and Yokohama AVS ES100 tires. What else does it have to justify $40k?
