These tires any good?

Need to replace the summer tires we have on our 16s and these are cheap but that sort of scares me.

My second choice is the Yokohama S.Drive, which I have used on my MR2 and they were fantastic tires and they are only 115 bucks more for the set.

I had these (different size though) on a previous car and loved them. Used on a 2nd set of wheels as a tire for HPDE's/tracking. Not the all-out in extreme grip but performed very, very well, regardless of the price. I have a set on my new wheels now waiting for springtime to go on the MINI.

cool, the price for the mini is just amazing, less than 400 bucks to get the tires, get them shipped, and get them installed.

Hoping to recoupe a bit of money by selling the run flats we have now. they have some life left n them.

Glad you like em! They really are a great value. And at this price, if happen to need to replace one, it isn't a wallet buster. Not to mention that they are a good all around tire, especially in wet weather.

On a budget the HTR ZII is fine.

Other tires in the same class tested by Tirerack-
http://www.tirerack.com/tires/tests/...y.jsp?ttid=163

Most are about $99 each but perform a little better most likely. They all have about the same treadwear ratings.

Take your pick. The HTR ZII is the lightest of the bunch at 19lbs each in that size tire.

sorta missed that I already bought them. $68 bucks a tire. It was either these or the S.Drives, which I have used in the past, but couldn't beat the price.

I know I am bumping a year old thread but, we've put maybe 17k-18k on these things and they are now the NOISIEST summer performance tires I have ever had on a car, it is almost deafening, hard to talk to people in the car.

the rear tires also wore really weird based on the tread pattern. Not like an alignment or out of balance issue just weird, even the tire folks were mystified by the wear when we brought them in to get rebalanced after sitting unused all winter.

wish I had gotten the S.drives
