Shuffle Mode + USB Drive = Not So Random?
I've had my '13 Clubman S for nearly 5 months now, and have had a USB stick with at least several hundred tracks on it in it since the day I picked it up. I've noticed, all along, that when set to shuffle, that I hear the same 12 or so songs over and over again and not any others. I'm able to see this, albeit with slightly different tracks in each mode, on all of the various modes of accessing the tracks (folder, artist, etc.). Has anyone else noticed this? Is there any way to make this thing more random?

The really basic Sync setup on my Fiesta was worlds ahead, bit of course everything else was leaps and bounds worse :-P Oh well, I guess I'll stick with folder mode. It's definitely the best of the available options as far as this functionality is concerned. Maybe the rumored update expected sometime this year thst activates the missing voice command feature will come with other improvements that will help this.

There seem to be plenty of other people running USB sticks in them too. I just have the standard stereo with the stock USB/iPhone connectivity option that the rest of the 2013s have instead of satellite radio.

I'm using a USB stick and have noticed the same thing.. .The same 10-20 tracks play over and over....meanwhile I have hundreds of songs...You need to mess around with the up arrow and make sure its in the right location... Then your shuffle will display and shuffle through all the songs you have..
I apologize, I should have been more specific. On my USB stick I have about 10 folders with specific bands / categories. On the root of the USB stick, asides from the folders I also have over a hundred random songs. Recently I noticed that the same 10-15 songs kept playing over again. I believe I clicked on the directory button and list and noticed that only 15 songs were displayed. I pressed the back arrow and went into one of my folders. I then clicked on the back button again to try to reach the root location again. This time the car was able to read the 100+ songs on the root + see all the folders. Basically you need to make sure the car is reading the right location. Its almost like it creates a favorites list for you and only plays that.
Hope this somewhat helps. Do far the car has not done it again once I selected the right location.

Forgive the dumb question, but if I plug my Iphone 5 into the usb port, all I can do so far is charge my phone. I have the base radio with just Sirius/XM. Am I supposed to hear my songs through the USB too? Or do you need two wires. One into USB and one into Aux port?

That's my understanding as well.
