Clutch adjustment

Anyone know of a way to adjust the clutch?

All my cars I set my clutches to grab near the bottom ie. just off the floor. However my 08 MCS (new to me) has paper work to show it recently had warranty clutch work and it doesn't seem to have any wear issues so I think it's in good condition. However I can literally press the pedal about 1-2 inches and use it. I would love to adjust it to be more like my other cars, anyone know if that's possible?

You will have to live with it as it is, the stock OEM clutch/flywheel is self adjusting with no manual adjustment possible or necessary.

The clutch is "self-adjusting". There is no external mechanism to adjust the clutch on a R56. If it's any assurance, my clutch starts grabbing about 1.5 inches from the floor.

Damn I'm not liking what I've heard so far!
Anyone know if I can reach up under the dash and adjust something on the pedal assembly itself?
I know it's worlds apart but I can adjust the pedal, or under the car on the bell housing of my 911 so I'm just hoping there is someway to change it. I'm not afraid to grab some tools and dive in if it's complicated.

You might not like what your hearing or being told, but I have highlighted in Red your (the) answer.

Thanks Czar! I was being too hopeful for the "you're not supposed to take this apart but you can" type answer. Guess I'll learn to deal

I agree. I'd like less travel before engagement, too, and a lower overall pedal at rest. I can't keep my left heel on the ground when I shift. It's like playing a drumkit all day in heavy traffic, and I'm not a drummer.

Maybe you could design a shoe that attaches to the BOTTOM of the clutch pedal. That'll give you the feel you're looking for.

The clutch master cylinder is actually in the foot well right next to the top of the pedal arm. There's no adjustable rod going thru the firewall like many other cars

You can "adjust" the air bubbles out of the line by bleeding the clutch properly.
Search out how to do it, it's not as simple as bleeding the brakes.

I had the exact same experience with mine. When I switch and drive another manual (my truck) and then drive the mini, I'm almost stomping the pedal through the floorpan to engage the clutch when the right point is about 2" from the top of the pedal!

The only way I can think of to get the release/grab point lower would be to introduce a small amount of air into the system. Probably very tricky to do and not such a good idea.

I guess I am glad the clutch is self-adjusting...one less thing to have to, ah, adjust. But...

I would SWEAR my clutch grabbed closer to the floor after I was in for my 1st or 2nd service visit (can't remember)...it was quite a noticeable difference.

I assumed the clutch was adjusted. But now I find out it wasn't? Then what did I feel?

I don't understand why you would want the clutch to grab closer to the floor. My clutch releases and grabs very close from where you begin to push it. It makes for shifting between the gears faster as you barely have to push the clutch in at all to switch gears.

I guess it's only really nice for 1st gear...there is no having to hold your leg half-way or whatever, which is not as easy as leaving your heel rest on the floor and just push with your toes.
