i bought the car, the sunroof motor was shot. bought a new motor today. installed it, and it works, but it seems like i need to set up the stop points?

when i open the roof, it will go about 3/4's of the way, stop and then close it self. if i inch the roof all the way back (a little at a time) it will stop and stay at the full open position, then when i close the roof it doesn't close all the way, it is still popped up at the back.

is there some sync process?

any help would be great.

There is an initialization process for this. When I bought mine, it had a dead battery and the dealer had to do this to get the roof working properly. I'm not sure if I remember correctly, but I think you should hold the button in close position for 10 sec. + and the roof will start the process to find the end points. Also, try google to confirm.

 

I didn't realize sunroofs could be reinitialized. Have my 2007 R56 roof motor replaced recently and the one-touch open and close isn't working.
So I looked up the reset process. There's a thread here with the steps. I'm going to try it tomorrow when the car returns home...
