I'm a Mini owner again.

m a Mini Owner again...
Several years ago I sold my MC40 and have really missed the car so I recently bought a 2002 S which has many parts and is much faster than my previous car. So I have some questions for you guys.
It has Eibach coilover suspension which will have to be raised as the rear is bottomed out. If anyone has any advise as to how far to thread the collars up I would appreciate it although I know every car is different.
The PO also stated it has an alta supercharger and pulley which I assumed was just the pulley as I wasnt aware of any aftermarket superchargers but the intercooler, air intake hose and filter is not stock for certain and there is a lot of blow off pressure noises, which sounds amazing. He also said it has a JCW head which I had never heard of?
In cleaning the car I found a certificate from John Cooper Works which doesnt give much information but mentions breaking in the Engine again by varying the RPMs. Obviously I will call and give them certificate and see what they can tell me but again wondered what input yall may have.
Anyway I'm glad to be a mini owner again especially one that is as quick as this one is.

First, welcome back.

Correct, there is no Alta supercharger.

there is a lot of blow off pressure noises
This it is from the supercharger whining.LOL

He also said it has a JCW head which I had never heard of?

Is there a plate on the valve cover thats says something like this?

IF it does there is a good chance you have a JCW head. Usually the head is part of a kit which would of included the supercharger, exhaust, head, air filter and ECU tuning.

Post some pics and good luck.

I do not see a badge on the engine but I cant see underneath of the intercooler. I would like to change the engine and Supercharger oils this weekend but for some reason cant find much info. Any tips as to the correct oils to use and amounts?
Also it makes a weird noise normally in the am as it accerates from idle and isnt a grinding noices but sorta like a rusty door closing?? I remember my old one doing it so I'm not overly concerned. Any ideas? Also can I order the wheel locks from Mini using the VIN #? If not I will be destroying them. Thanks in advance for your advise.

Maybe this will help with the supercharger oil change.

Holy cow... That's a serious operation there. I was, for some reason expecting something like a GM L67 S/C oil change where the oil drain/fill is immediately accessible. That... makes me think a turbo is the way to go lol

Good luck with the oil changes, and congrats on your Mini!.
