The lonely 2013 mini cooper S bolt on thread
It seems I'm very limited in the mods I can purchase. I work a second job job for this car alone and modding it yet no companies want my money. Apparently AEM is too busy designing the FR-S cold air which is funny since 1 of those for every 5 cooper S's are sold.
Hey companies, I have money, f'in take it already and offer bolt on parts I can buy. If your products fit 2013 models then update your website. My car has 600 miles on it and the only mod I can find to do so far.....drumroll....tint the windows.
So please, if you know of any competetive bolt on products for 2013 models please post them here. I'm ready to buy 2-3 and get a tune already and lower this 4x4.

Dude there are mods for you car. You just have to look in the right places. Places like Detroit Tuned, MINI Mania, Moss MINI, and Lohen to name a few. Patience and good searching will help you out. The only thing is tuning for the N18 that is being difficult because BMW put the ECU on lock down.

The reality is very very little has been changed between 2012 and 2013 MINIs. Most all parts that are stated as compatible with 07-12 cars will be compatible with 2013 cars. Tuning would be the only significant exception I can think of. But tuning is already available for 2013 cars anyway, albiet through a different method.
I'm not sure what you are saying. I think what you are saying is that when you look on company's websites they state compatibility is 07-12.

It's hard to tell the difference when someone is trying to just make a sale and someone who actually cares if the part fits. I'm new to mini's and still learning the basics so I'll update this thread with parts I put on my 2013 that aren't necessarily for it.
After much debate about me even cutting the AEM tubing to make it fit I decided to go with this intake from DDMworks since only two of the bolts near the air box need to be slightly modified; or so I was told by DDM. I'm super excited to install the race intake system this weekend when I have time.
An acquaintance from another JDM centric site here in florida is having a grand opening dyno day Feb 10th. I'll have this on before then and be the only mini there among hondas, toyotas, and nissans

@WMW I'll be hitting you guys up for 2 parts from your site I already got my eye on. My first priority is getting intake, intercooler, exhaust, suspension, enkei rpf1's, jcw gauge add-ons, and a tune over at renntech.
Already paid for my deposit on the group buy

@CMFFEMT- renntech is mainly a mercedes tuner and does bmw/mini as well. the dyno day is at kphonix in miami feb 10th.
To my surprise I came home Friday night from work and found the DDMworks race intake on my doorstep as well as a case of ice breakers duo thingys I bought for a girlfriend of mine. Got up first thing this morning and had at it. As told by DDM for the 2013 I would have to make my own two screw holes on the front side of the intake housing in order for the intake to fasten properly which I did with a simple cordless drill and bit.
Pros:The famous "woosh" noise between shifts is always fun. Seems to breathe better. It does what it's told-put the air in the engine(lotion on the skin). No check engine light or funny idling.
Cons-the kit assumes your cooper S came with a heat shield and tells you to use the 6 screws removed from the heat shield to install the channel leading to the cold air box. I think I read somewhere that 2012 hood scoops were bending from heat so they installed heatshields under the hood and changed the design in 2013 thus me not having the 6 screws. So for now I have the cold air installed but not the channel under hood until I get the screws from mini or someone can tell me what kind of screws I need to bolt this baby up.
ALSO-DDMworks make it very clear that step 15 of the directions os not skipped. It says to rotate the breather hose from the valve cover 90 degrees or else it could cause engine damage or void warranty. 2013's came with a breather hose clip. You can't rotate it. I need to get in contact with DDMworks and find out what's going on with that.

Yup, I think that's the brake booster line you are referring too. I have a 2012 and it's the same as yours....can't be rotated. Same goes for 2011 S's I believe.
As for the scoops melting, that stopped back in mid-production 2010 when they changed the composition of the scoop so it wouldn't sag anymore.
